ENBW – Ultra-Fast Charging Stations assembly equipment

Project description

Case Study 04

INITIAL SITUATION: In order to promote e-mobility forward, the number of charging stations must be consistently expanded. In Baden-Württemberg, EnBW has put numerous new ultra-fast charging stations into operation, which are able to charge electricity for a range of around 100 km in just 4 minutes. These highly efficient ultra-fast charging stations have a very high self-weight, which must be considered during assembly.

SOLUTION: The flexible and mobile aluminium gantry cranes from SCHILLING Kran- und Hebetechnik are the ideal solution for this application. They can be set up quickly and adapted to the different conditions of the charging sites and the possibility of tool-free assembly by just two people ensures a high level of efficiency. Another advantage is that the heavy ultrafast charging stations can be lifted safely over the cable ends protruding from the prepared foundation.

RESULT: The use of the mobile aluminium gantry cranes from SCHILLING Kran- und Hebetechnik paid off within a very short time. Assembly times were significantly reduced, and costs were cut as a result. Since the lightweight cranes have been in use at EnBW, there have also been no more damages to the cables or to the charging stations themselves. Due to the very safe and extremely convenient handling of the heavy loads, the employees and the company both benefit. This is a truly win-win situation for all parties involved, and for this reason, the project has received great approval.
