Our SCHILLING aluminium gantry cranes are known for their mobility and flexibility, which make them suitable for a wide range of applications. Recently, however, we had a particularly interesting and unique application.
Our mobile aluminium gantry crane was used by the German Sport University Cologne as a ball shooting machine to examine various scientific aspects of the European Championship balls.
The balls were tested in terms of their surface quality, size and air pressure. Thanks to the converted ball shooting machine, which was operated by our ALU gantry crane, a constant shooting speed could be guaranteed. This enabled precise and repeatable tests, once again demonstrating the versatility and reliability of our cranes.
A particular focus was on investigating which ball absorbs the most energy and is therefore the fastest. The results of these tests are of great importance for the further development of training methods and sports equipment.
SCHILLING Kran- und Hebetechnik from Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance is keeping its fingers crossed for the German team in the forthcoming European Football Championships and wishes them every success.
With best wishes,
SCHILLING Kran- und Hebetechnik
