A SCHILLING ALU gantry crane was used for a comprehensive roof renovation of the Neuperlach shopping paradise PEP. The challenge was to lift and move a refrigeration system weighing several tonnes without disrupting the ongoing operation of the shopping centre.
The decision in favour of the SCHILLING gantry crane was made due to its numerous advantages: The lightweight aluminium construction enabled a lower roof load, while the flexible design allowed optimal adaptation to the tight space conditions.
The solution also impressed with its reusability for various lifting jobs and ease of transport. Andreas Stünkel, project manager at Rehe Service GmbH from Munich, was delighted with the gantry crane's performance: ‘It worked really well!’
