Today's portal crane application is not about recovering a <link https: www.schilling-fn.de en news detail short-ticker-1000-years-old-sarcophagus-open external-link sarcophagus>sarcophagus like last year, but the new application example is again related to church surroundings.
At Ulm Cathedral, a Protestant church in Ulm built in the Gothic style, renovation work is being carried out on the church tower. Completed in 1890, the 161.53 metre high tower is the highest church tower in the world.
During renovation work, materials or tools often have to be lifted and moved in surroundings that are often difficult to access. This was also required during the work on the Ulm Cathedral and so our SCHILLING <link>gantry crane was used here in lofty heights.
