Aluminium Gantry Crane – for demonstration purposes

To awake the interest of young people in technology, the knowledge workshop in Friedrichshafen has a motor assembled in its workshop for learning purposes.

To lift the cylinder head of the motor our Aluminium Gantry Crane type <link _self internal-link crane movable under>movable under load is used.

On the cylinder head are two attachment points. For this reason two trolleys have been integrated. As lifting devices for lifting, lowering and moving the load on the aluminium double beams, suitable manual <link _self internal-link>chain hoists including chain storage bags have been used. 

In addition, this lifting device is not only fitted with braking wheels (so that the rolling and swiveling movements can be blocked at rest), it is also fitted with <link _self internal-link gantry crane with>4 x 90° direction fixation. This allows the complete crane to be moved exactly in the longitudinal and transverse directions.

When the direction fixation is released the crane can also be freely moved. Through use of the brakes, the crane can be arrested in any position. Through the selected crane variation, the complete motor can be lifted with the crane and freely moved.

Due to the relatively low ceiling height, the version with double beam has been used so that the maximal lift in relation to the total crane height can be used.
